About Us

The BPA consists of homeowners who have monitored the growth, safety, and character of our neighborhood for 55 years. We have a rich history, beginning with the construction of the second oldest lighthouse installation in the nation, to that of Brant Point holding a prominent place in the transition of the island from the whaling capital of the world to a highly desirable tourist destination. We are backed by the Nantucket Civic League—the umbrella organization representing all of Nantucket Island’s neighborhood associations, and enjoy support from the association of hotel and restaurant owners.

The Road Ahead

As a critical step towards the BPA becoming a truly representative neighborhood association, ensuring the voice of our community is heard and our challenges recognized as a priority by the Town of Nantucket, is greater participation from Brant Point residents. The Associations goal is to move towards full membership from our current level of 30%. Even though most homes are used seasonally in Brant Point, the issues facing the neighborhood are year-round. It is vital that homeowners, their families, and local business owners understand the issues at hand and learn what a neighborhood organization can accomplish together. Please support the BPA by joining now.

  • Overdevelopment threatening the natural beauty and character of Brant Point
  • Protection of open land
  • Parking of trailers, boats, and cars that frequently block driveways and private property
  • Active water and flood management
